Vincent David Shipley, 61, of Berlin, Maryland, died peacefully on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at the Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD.
Born on April 10, 1957 in Baltimore, MD, he was the son of the late Sterling A. Shipley, Jr. and Dorothy E. (Clingan) Shipley.
Vince was a graduate of Westminster High School class of 1975. He started his sales career at Westminster Coca Cola Bottling Company and continued at Mid Atlantic Coca Cola in Frederick, MD, where he retired after 37 years. He was an avid golfer and lifelong fan of the Orioles, Ravens and Baltimore Colts.
Surviving are sisters, JoAnn S. Tyler of Berlin, MD, and Mary E. Klinger and Samuel Ayres of Kill Devil Hills, NC; sister-in-law, Patricia Y. Shipley of Frederick, MD; nieces and nephews, Thomas Fritz, Jr. of Glen Burnie, MD, Joan and Grant Gursky of Berlin, MD, Stephanie Shipley and Daniel Erroa of Frederick, MD, Patrick “Rick” and Rachel Shipley of Frederick, MD, and Alexandra Tyler of Sykesville, MD; and 8 great nieces and great nephews.
He was predeceased by his beloved brother, Sterling A. “Buzz” Shipley, III in May of this year.
Vince attended Holy Savior Catholic Church, Ocean City, MD. He blessed the lives of all who knew him with his humor, friendship and love. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe St., Westminster with the Rev. Andrew DeFusco as celebrant. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 20th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD, and on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.
