Myrna Mae White

Myrna Mae White, age 68, of Taneytown, Maryland, died on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, PA.

Born May 23, 1943, in Mayberry, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Wilson H. and Ruth (Putman) Myers.

Myrna Mae was a 1961 graduate of Taneytown Jr.-Sr. High School and attended George Washington University, Washington, D.C. As part of her working life, she worked with the F.B.I. in Washington, D.C., and later as a meter maid and crossing guard with the Taneytown Police Department. She loved sports, especially the Orioles, Ravens, and Terps. Myrna Mae served as a volunteer usher at the Preakness for 22 years; and was especially fond of her cat, Kalley.

Surviving are sister and brother-in-law, Nancy R. and Ronald H. Anders of Taneytown. She was predeceased by a brother, Allen Myers.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, on Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren (Monocacy Congregation) with Pastor David Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Ridge Church of the Brethren Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 East Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
