Mary Anna (Thomas) Myers

Mary Anna Myers, née Thomas, age 91, of Taneytown, died on Wednesday, December, 20, 2023 at Lorien Taneytown. Born, November 24, 1932, in Calvert County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Thomas and Martha Thomas, née King. She was married for 48 years to Joseph Myers (deceased 2000).

She worked her way up from bookkeeper at Baltimore General Hospital to head of the department early in the women’s movement, which was opening such opportunities. She loved big band music and dancing, especially on roller-skates, where she met her husband.  She was and will always be beloved by her family.          Survived by her 4 children; Jeffrey, Karen, Terri and Kevin, as well as numerous grand-children, including 27 great-grand-children and 1 great-great-grand-child.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 27, 2023, 10am at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 47 Depaul St, Emmitsburg, MD 21727. Burial will follow at New St. Joseph Cemetery.
