Esther Mae Poffinberger, age 90, resident of Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, Maryland, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 peacefully at her home.
She was born on April 27, 1926 in Middletown, Frederick County, Maryland, daughter of the late Eyster B. and Gertrude Mae Toms Bidle. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 65 years, Charles R. Poffinberger.
Esther was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Middletown. She was a graduate of Middletown High School and the Frederick Academy of the Visitation, Commercial Department. She was employed before her marriage with Stoffer Insurance Agency of Frederick.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Middletown, MD with Rev. Dr. Kathy Vitalis Hoffman and Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz co-officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at the Krug Chapel at Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, Md.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Zion Lutheran Church, 107 West Main St., Middletown, MD 21769 or to the Ministry of Caring Endowment Fund, Carroll Lutheran Village, 300 St. Luke Circle, Westminster, MD 21158. Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster, Md.
