Clinton Holley Helphenstine, age 60, of Reisterstown, Md., died suddenly on Friday, January 25, 2008 at Northwest Hospital Center in Randallstown. Born September 29, 1947 in Ivydale, W.Va., he was the son of James William Helphenstine of Glen Burnie, and the late Phyllis Leona (Holley) Helphenstine.
He was the husband of Patricia Jane (Aus) Helphenstine, his wife of 38 years.
He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., serving in the Vietnam War. He received two Purple Hearts for Valor during combat in Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion, the V.F.W. Post 521 in Owings Mills, and the D.A.V. Up until 2000, he worked as a computer graphics coordinator with Environmental Elements Corporation.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father, are sons and daughters-in-law, Christopher Andrew and Patricia Ann Helphenstine of Manchester, Patrick Edward and Alisha Marie Helphenstine of Hanover, Pa., and Clinton James and Mikenzie Lynn Helphenstine of Ocean City, New Jersey; siblings, Scherry Lois Belz of Shrewsbury, Pa., Donald Taylor Helphenstine of Mt. Olive, N.C., Clifton Ford Helphenstine of Baltimore, Frances Marie Helphenstine of Glen Burnie.
Also surviving are grandchildren, Sydney Jane, Andrew James, Logan James, Ian Patrick, Lilly Victoria, Kalin Rae, Andi Lynn, and Kyle James Helphenstine, and many nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by a brother, James William Helphenstine, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30 AM, on Wednesday, January 30, 2008, from Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with the Rev. Anne C. Durboraw of St. Luke’s (Winters) Lutheran Church officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow in the Garrison Forest Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills, Md. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
