Charles Robert Yingling

Charles Robert Yingling, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 1, 2023 at Carroll Hospital Center. Born, November 9, 1948, he was the son of the late Harry Sterling Yingling and Dorothy May Yingling, nee Strine. He was the loving husband to Martha Jane Yingling, who has shared 55 years together. He also leaves behind his daughter, Buffy Yingling of Westminster.

He worked as a parts puller for Petry’s Junkyard for 30 years. He was an outdoors man who enjoyed fiddling around with yardwork and landscaping. He loved his coffee and could not function without it. He spent a lot of time with his family, including his beloved dog, Max. Talking with his fellow coworkers at Petry’s was always a highlight of his day. He was the hardest worker; he did not stop working until he started feeling ill in recent months.

Surviving in addition to his wife and daughter is sister, Daisy Petry; brother-in-law Alvy Stemple; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by sisters, Elsie Stephen and Betty Muller; and brothers John Wike, George Wike, Sr., and Harry Yingling.

The family will receive friends from 10 am to 12 Noon, on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A memorial service will follow at 12 Noon with Pastor James Crocker officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Charles’ name to ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
