Carol Anne Maiello, age 72 of Westminster, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Carroll Hospital Center. She was born May 21, 1935 in Boston, Mass., the daughter of the late John S. and Anna McNally Philpott. Before retirement she worked as a registered nurse at Shepherd Pratt Hospital in Baltimore. She was a member of the Neighborhood Watch in Westminster. She founded Lumina House for homeless women and was a volunteer for Goodwill and Active Day Hospital.
She is survived by sons, Edward J. Maiello of Westminster and John D. Maiello of Columbia; sisters, Connie Philpott of Westminster and Joan Doherty in Arlington, Mass.; also survived by 1 niece and 1 nephew.
She was predeceased by brother, John S. Philpott, Jr.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 23rd 7:00 PM at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with Rev. Gary A. Hawkins, St. Mark’s U.C.C. Church in Snydersburg, officiating. Inurnment will be private.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday 3:00 to 5:00 pm and 6:30 pm until time of service at the funeral home.
