Willie Mae “Billie” Livesay, age 86, of Keymar, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on March 30, 2011.
Born December 9, 1924 in Warren, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late William J. B. and Mamie O. (Hutton) Null. There to meet her in heaven was the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Charles B. Livesay, who went to be with the Lord, March 6, 1995. She was also married to a dear man and good friend for a short time, Amos L. Blank, who left our earthly presence for heaven’s, December 11, 2005.
Willie Mae worked in many clothing and shoe factories in her life. She served Carroll County Schools as a bus driver and contractor for over thirty years until the time of her retirement. She was very active in her church. She and her sisters spent many days playing guitar and singing for nursing homes and church functions. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Littlestown where she also volunteered with the youth group and helped to make meals. She had helped in the Community Care Outreach. In her youth, she played in her father’s country band with her family called “The Virginia Buck-A-Roos.” Willie Mae enjoyed reading her Bible, bowling, dancing, singing, playing music, flowers, gardens, cooking, traveling, picnics and spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are a son, B. Mitchell Livesay and wife Patricia of Glen Burnie, MD; daughters, Pamela A. L. Shorb and husband H. William, and Colleen F. Hahn and husband Michael all of Keymar, MD; grandchildren, Dawn Lewis, B. Charles Livesay, Brandi Crawford and husband Kevin, Billie Wagner and husband Neal, Christa Gross and Cari Corum. Also surviving are twelve great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was predeceased by granddaughters, Alicia and Lauricia Stotsky and Michelle Livesay Bortner, sisters, Eva V. Stonesifer and Ruth L. Cook Krumrine; brother, Edward E. Null.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Bethel Assembly of God, 1125 Frederick Pike, Littlestown, PA, with her Pastors the Rev. Garry Sheaffer and Rev. James Ruddy co-officiating. Interment will follow in the Keysville Union Cemetery in Keymar. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1-3 and 6-8 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD and on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service at the church.
