William "Bill" Bottner

William Robert “Bill” Bottner, age 83 of Westminter, died at BridgingLife (Dove House) on Friday, July 12, 2024. Born January 23, 1941, he was the son of the late George and Emma Bottner. He was the loving husband of Jeannette Bottner for 46 years.

Bill was a firefighter, working in Washinton DC. He retired from firefighting in 1995. He and his wife had a love for animals.  Together they rescued and volunteered for cat rescues, dog and wildlife rescues.  Bill put his talent for carpentry to work building elaborate housing for feral cats. He also built housing for the wildlife rescue where he volunteered.

Bill is survived by his wife, Jeannette Bottner of Westminster; friends; and neighbors.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 12 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, P.A., 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home for a time of visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
