William “Doc” Reese, Jr., 72, of Westminster died Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born August 27, 1942 in Johnsville, Maryland, he was the son of the late William Webster and Mary Ellen Delawder Reese.
Doc was a supervisor at Westminster Shoe Company and Monumental Millwork in Westminster for many years. He enjoyed fishing and watching baseball, especially the New York Yankees. He loved listening to country music and had met many country music stars over the years. He was a personal friend of country music legend, Red Sovine. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving are son, Aaron Derr of Westminster, daughter, Elena Reese and fiancé Jose Lopez of Westminster, and son, Sean Reese of Abbottstown, PA; sister, Barbara Jean Parrish and husband Ralph of Littlestown, PA; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and a nephew. He is also remembered by former wife, Brenda Reese and step-son, Eric Derr, both of Abbottstown, PA. He was predeceased by son, Lance Reese, daughter-in-law, Dana Derr, and step-son, Douglas Derr.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 23 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, Md. Interment will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
