William Frank Mundie

William Frank Mundie, 78, of Taneytown, formerly of Olney, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 24, 2023. Born Sunday, January 28, 1945 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Joseph Earl Mundie and Audrey Marie Mundie, nee Hutchinson, beloved husband of Kathleen Ann Mundie, nee Schrider, his wife of 57 years whom he married Saturday, July 30, 1966; loving father of Karen Mundie Dexter and her husband Richard, and Joseph William Mundie and his wife Alison; devoted grandfather of Rachel, Anne, Taylor, Paige, Ellie, Jacob, and Cameron; cherished brother of Christine Willis and her husband Wesley; and also survived by a large extended family. He was predeceased by his daughter Jeanne Marie Mundie.

Mr. Mundie was an Agent for the Internal Revenue Service working as an auditor. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and formerly of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Olney and is member of the Knight of Columbus in Taneytown, Council 11631. He had many passions in his spare time from collecting LGB and Lionel Toy Trains, to eating Maryland Blue Crabs and being an avid Ford Car enthusiast. He will be truly missed by all who knew him and enjoyed his company.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m., Friday, December 1, 2023 at the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick Street, Taneytown (21787) where a Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring (20906).
