William Miller

William H. Miller, 89, of Taneytown died Thursday, February 28, 2013 at his home. Born May 15, 1923 in Blackoak, MD, he was the son of the late William F. and Viola Baker Miller. He was the husband of Evelyn Martin Miller, his wife of 70 years.



William was a lifelong farmer. He owned and operated school buses for Carroll County Public Schools for over 50 years. He moved to Taneytown in 1942 and along with his wife, purchased a dairy farm in 1943. He operated a farm egg route to Baltimore for 10 years and also did custom farming. He was a 64-year member of the Masonic Monocacy Lodge #203. He was also a member of Shriners International and Uniontown United Methodist Church.



Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Judy Shultz and husband, Dean of Gettysburg, PA, and Leonard Miller, Sr. and wife, Corinthia, of Taneytown; brother, David M. Miller and wife, Louise, of Taneytown; grandchildren, Michael Miller and wife, Melissa, of Elizabethtown, PA, Leonard Miller, Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Taneytown, Susan Bertier and husband, Jeremy, of Littlestown, PA, Brian Miller and wife, Samantha, of Taneytown; great-grandchildren, Logan Miller, of Taneytown, Abby, Lilly, Gracie, and Callie Bertier, of Littlestown, PA and Lane and Audrey Rose Miller, of Taneytown; and cousin, William LeRoy of Baltimore. He was predeceased by sisters, Anna Pauline Miller and Marian M. Little, and brothers, Robert and Donald Miller.




Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Pastor Walt Bosman and Pastor O.F. “Bud” Kibbie co-officiating. Interment will follow at Keysville Union Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
