William Richard “Bill” Glacken, 80, of Taneytown, MD died Friday, December 7, 2012 at his home. Born October 5, 1932 in Baltimore, he was the son of the late William and Ruth Reeside Glacken. He was the husband of JoAnn Hunter Glacken, his wife of 25 years.
Bill was a boilermaker and was a member of Boilermakers Local 192 for more than 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, playing cards, and watching football. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan.
Surviving in addition to his wife are sons, Richard Glacken and wife, Kitty, of Finksburg, and Michael Glacken and wife, Debbie, of Winchester, MA; step-daughter, Angie Layman and husband, Kenny, of Hanover, PA; sister, Bessie Wise of Pasadena; and grandchildren, Jessica, Elizabeth, Kyle, Lillian, and Christopher.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 15 at his home on Kump Station Rd. for family and friends. Arrangements are by Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
