William “Bill” D. Essich, age 73 of Westminster, died Thursday February 11, 2010 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. He was born May 19, 1936 in Westminster, son of the late Albert and Mary Hancock Essich. He was the husband of Ruth Mae Cunningham Essich, his wife of 44 years. He was a graduate of Westminster High School and a veteran, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked as an assistant manager for the food stores, A&P and Superfresh located in Owings Mills and Westminster, retiring in 1992. He was a bus assistant for special needs children for the Carroll County Public Schools. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose. He was an avid fan of NASCAR, football and the Baltimore Orioles.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Brian K. Essich of Westminster; two granddaughters, Eryn and Grey Essich.
He was predeceased by brothers, Charles and John Essich.
The family will receive friends Monday 2:00 to 4:00 pm and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster.
Services and interment will be private at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Finksburg.
