William Clifford Dinterman, Sr.

William Clifford Dinterman, Sr., 91, of Abbottstown, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the UPMC Hanover Hospital. Born January 10, 1932, he was the son of the late John William Dinterman and Odie Rebecca Dinterman, nee Neusbaum. He was the loving partner to the late Betty M. Zentz, whom he was with for 48 years before her passing on April 13, 2020.

He was in the United States Army from 1952 – 1954 before working for Maryland Cup/Sweetheart Cup as a Mechanic for many years. He enjoyed watching westerns, the news, and old war shows, listening to country music from the 40's, and reading the newspaper.

He is survived by his children, Barbara Winard and husband Leon, Richard Dinterman, all of Abbottstown, PA, and Lisa Freeman of Middle River, MD; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He had four sisters and 2 brothers. In addition to Betty, he was preceded in death by son, William C. Dinterman, Jr., who died May 29, 2017, and his grandson PFC Michael R. Dinterman, who was killed in action September 6, 2008, while serving in the Army.

The family will receive friends from 11 am - 12 Noon on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A funeral service will begin at 12 Noon at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Union Chapel Cemetery, Libertytown, MD.
