William Winburn Cunningham, Sr., age 88 of Finksburg, died Thursday, December 18, 2008 at Carroll Hospice Dove House. He was born August 2, 1920 in Paxton, Illinois, the son of the late Louis and Victoria Winburn Cunningham. He was the husband of Alice M. Reininger Cunningham, his wife of 64 years. He was a veteran of the Coast Guard during World War II. He retired in 1986 as an insurance agent, 10 years for Washington National and 24 years for United Insurance Company of America. He was an avid sports fan and loved coaching little league. He was an honest hardworking man and he loved to dance and laugh.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children William W. Cunningham, Jr. of Baltimore and R. Michael, Sr. and his wife Patricia J. Cunningham of Leesburg, VA; grandchildren, Christine and husband Chad Blubaugh, Brandi Tingley, R. Michael Cunningham, Jr. and Candy Cunningham; great grandchildren, Kirstin Volkmann, Madison Cunningham, Kyleigh Blubaugh, Kamryn Blubaugh, Corbin Segna and Alex Cunningham; brother, Harry Byrd of DeMoines, Iowa.
He was predeceased by siblings, Leonard Cunningham, Dale Cunningham and Mary Adele Lock.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 27th at 11:00 A.M. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
