William Wayne Coxton, Sr., 70, of Westminster, made his way to heaven on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at FutureCare Cherrywood in Reisterstown. Born October 21, 1952 in Garden Creek, Virginia, he was the son to the late Arthur Whitt Coxton and Elva Carlie Coxton, nee Street.

He was raised in southwest Virginia and resided in the Thompson Valley section of Tazewell, Virginia for many years before moving to Maryland with his oldest son. He served in the Army in the military police company and was a mechanic at Fort Benning, Georgia after completing basic training at Fort Knox, KY prior to being honorably disabled retired from the Army. During his teen years he loved to go roller skating and was great at it. He was a jack of all trades at home. He loved to watch old westerns and the movie, Erin Brockovich, on repeat. He loved all the classics rock and roll and R&B music, as well as gospel. He loved living on the farm and all his animals. He had a special devotion to his mother and financially helped her as a teenager through his whole life. He loved all children and they loved him just as much. He never could whistle, but he sure tried to. Most importantly, he loved his family and God.

Survivors include Lucy Ann Warren Coxton, whom he was married to almost forty years of his adult life, the love of his life and mother of his children; his daughter, Cheryl (Robbie) Festerman of Berkeley Springs, WV and sons, William Jr. (Nicole) Coxton of Westminster, MD and Jonathan (Kayla) Coxton of Falling Waters, WV; his grandchildren, Clarissa Steele, Hope Steele, Austin Smith, Aydon Coxton, Jasmine Coxton, Allie Smith, Orion Bain, Nicholas Coxton, Kayla Ohmann, David Festerman, Chris Festerman, Jada Wise; great-grandchildren, Tyler, Bryson, Georgia, Gracelyn, Cameron and Lainey (on the way). His siblings, Arvil (Sharon) Coxton, John L (Sandy) Coxton, Darrell Coxton, Judy Hatfield, Joe Coxton, Tina Dye, Nola Whitt, Lilly Whitt and Johnny Whitt and many nieces and nephews.
