William Wayne Baker

December 19, 1977 — February 24, 2016

William Wayne “Bill” Baker, 38, of Taneytown, MD, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at York Hospital in York, PA.  Born December 19, 1977 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of Eula (Price) Baker, and Wayne Baker, both of Taneytown.

Bill was a construction worker, and was employed for 10 years by Rill’s Construction in Taneytown.  He had also worked for Star Electric in Odenton, MD.  He enjoyed hunting, playing golf, landscaping, playing cards, partying with friends, and spending time with family.  He enjoyed watching Oakland Raiders football, Maryland Terrapins basketball, and NASCAR.  Bill was a fan of Dale Earnhart, Jr.

Surviving in addition to his parents are sisters, Michelle Vaughn and husband Michael of Taneytown, and Julia Baker and spouse Sharon of Taneytown; father’s companion, Donnalee Hartman of Taneytown; 3 nieces, a step-niece, 2 great-nephews, and a step-great-niece.

A funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, 21787, with the Rev. Steven Ostendorf and Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating.  Interment will be private.  The family will receive friends 2-4 p.m., and from 6 p.m. until the time of the service Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to help defray funeral expenses may be made to the funeral home at the above address.
