Wilfred S. Hoff, Sr., 93, of Finksburg, died peacefully on Monday, September 12, 2022, at home. Born August 9, 1929, he was the son of the late Paul and Ruth Hoff, nee Stevenson. He was the devoted husband to the late Annie H. Hoff, who passed in October 2016. They shared 64 loving years together.
He was a life-long farmer. He was a member of the Carroll County Farm Bureau, a leader in All Stars 4-H Club of Carroll County, and a member of the Progressive Farmers. He was a member of St. Benjamin’s “Krider’s” Lutheran Church in Westminster.
Surviving him are children, Deborah Muse and husband Roger “Gil” of Finksburg, Diane Buchman and husband Charles of Taneytown, Michael Hoff of Finksburg, and Donna Hoff and husband John Brenner of Taneytown; sister Dora Lee-Eyler of Westminster; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by sons, John Paul Hoff and Wilfred “Steve” Hoff, Jr.; and brothers Donald Hoff and Carl Hoff.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2022, and again from 10 – 11 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD 21157. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 16, 2022, at the funeral home, with Pastor David Meador officiating. Interment will follow in St. Benjamin’s “Krider’s” Lutheran Church Cemetery in Westminster.
