Wilbur “Bub” Richard Stouter, 83, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, went home with the Lord on Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at the York Hospital in York, PA.

Born June 5, 1934 in Emmitsburg, MD, he was the son of the late Melvin F. and Carrie E. (Turner) Stouter.  He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Mary Grace (Punt) Stouter.

Wilbur was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the M.P.  He worked for 32 years as a metallurgic technician with Teladine Landis Machine Company in Waynesboro, PA retiring in 1998.  He was a life-long member of Friends Creek Church of God and served the church as trustee and Sunday school teacher.  He loved science fiction, U.F.O.’s, and especially reading his Bible.

Surviving in addition to his wife are son, Brett Richard Stouter of Emmitburg; granddaughter, Carrie Rebecca Lowe and husband Curt; great-granddaughters, Cylee and Casey; brother, Sterling Stouter and wife Ellen of Emmitsburg; many nieces, nephews, and special friends.  He was predeceased by brother, Robert M. “Pooch” Stouter and sister, Ruby A. Hurley.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at the Friends Creek Church of God, Friends Creek Rd., Emmitsburg with Pastor Nancy Lewis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Friends Creek Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Emmitsburg.
