Wayne Leroy Knopp, Sr.

Wayne Leroy Knopp Sr., 66, of Taneytown, passed away, Monday, June 26, 2023, at his home. Born August 29, 1956, in Baltimore County, MD, he was the son of the late Russel and Catherine Marie (Gettle) Knopp. He was the devoted husband to wife, Lois Catherine Knopp, whom he married, July 28, 1979.

Wayne worked for Lehigh Cement for 34 years, before retirement in 2021. Wayne knew no stranger; he was the salt of the earth, and could walk into a room and make friends with anyone. He lived with kindness, and loved to help people. A “jack of all trades”, he could fix anything, and was always willing.

Surviving in addition to Wayne’s wife, Lois, are his beloved children; Ashley Nicole Knopp Tittle (Erik) of Taneytown, Tabitha Lynn Knopp (Charley Brown) of Taneytown, and Wayne Knopp (Danielle) of Colorado Springs, CO, grandchildren; Brandon Tittle, Alexis Knopp, Conner Neff, Hunter, and Cayden Brown, and Sierra, and Julianna Knopp, and siblings; Ronnie, Russie, and Sandy.

A Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 30th, 2023, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home P.A., 136 E Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 29th, at the Funeral Home.
