Wanda Rose Derr, age 77 of Reisterstown, Maryland, died on Thursday, June 25, 2015 at her home.
Born August 21, 1937 in Fayetteville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Hardy Rufus “Jack” Hawkins and Hillis Alvis (Caldwell) Hawkins.
Wanda worked for over 40 years as a clerk for Black & Decker Corporation in Hampstead, MD retiring in 2006. She was of the Methodist faith and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving her are daughter, Teresa “Terri” Couture and husband Gerry of Florida; son, Dana W. Grimes and wife Arlene of Fulton, MD; grandchildren, Lauren Wenzel, Lydia Kesner, Kelsey Grimes, and Delaney Grimes; great-grandchildren, Taven, Cody, and Benjamin; brothers, Joel and Earl Hawkins both of Westminster; sisters, Jewell Geouge and Linda Lantz both of Westminster, Susie Whitehurst of Taneytown, and Marcella Hansen of Delaware. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by sisters, Peggy Boone and Grace Glaser.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 29, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the time of a Memorial Service at 11 a.m., at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St, Westminster, MD.
