Vivian Faye Sweeney

Vivian Faye Sweeney of Westminster, MD, age 75, died Friday, December 15, 2023, at BridgingLife “The Dove House”, in Carroll County, Westminster. She was the daughter of the Late Robert Lee and Marie Gladyes Phipps.

Vivian is survived by her brother, Gerry L. Phipps; her Nieces, Tammy White and Kim Phipps; and her son, Daniel Sweeney and his fiance, Paige Russo.

In Vivian’s youth, she was a FireFighter in St. Cloud Florida, and after moving back to Maryland, she became a Nurses Aid at Carroll Hospital Center, and at the age of 30, she became a stay-at-home mom to raise her son, Daniel. She devoted her life to her faith, her family, her friends, and her pets. Vivian’s joy was helping those in need.

She is reunited with her husband, James Russell Sweeney, who predeceased her in 1997.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster at 11 a.m. with Pastor Greg George officiating. Interment will follow at St. John’s (Leisters) Church Cemetery.

The Family will receive friends for a time of visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, December 21 from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
