Virginia Lee (Taylor) Spencer

Virginia Lee Spencer, 86, of Finksburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Sunday, March 11, 2018 surrounded by her family at Carroll Hospice Dove House.

Born February 12, 1932 in Carroll County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Bertie Milton and Ethel Christiana (Brown) Taylor.  She was the wife of the late Carl Reed Spencer.

Virginia was a graduate of the Baltimore Business College.  She enjoyed bird watching, quilting, and cooking for family.  She and her husband Carl traveled extensively.  She cherished time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are son, Rick (Shirley) Spencer of Manchester; daughters, Bonnie (Lee) Cummings of Westminster and Debbie (Mark) Connolly of Linwood, N.Y.; grandchildren, Robin Stover, Susan Lell, Jed Spencer, Luke and Delaney Connolly; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson.

She was predeceased by a brother, Luther Milton Taylor and sister, Dorothy Elaine Taylor.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, with Pastor Jim Moss officiating.  Burial will follow in Sandymount Cemetery in Finksburg.  The family will receive friends on Thursday March 15th from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
