Violet Rosemary (McCarty) Doll, known to her family and friends as “Bike” and “Rose,” age 87, of Taneytown, Maryland died peacefully Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster.  Born March 18, 1927 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Dolphus and Helen (Eyler) McCarter.  She was the wife of the late George Doll.

Rose was raised on the farm.  She became a homemaker and homebody.  She enjoyed gardening, cooking, taking walks, and the farming life.

She is survived by son, James Lipscomb of Taneytown; daughter, Peggy Smith of Hanover, PA; sister, Mildred Page; brothers, George, Ralph, and Richard McCarter; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.  She is also remembered by special friend, Lea Yox.  She was predeceased by son, Dennis Lipscomb; sister, Nora Lee Pakaski, and brothers, James, Horace, Eddie, and Louis McCarter.

At Rose’s request, there will be no visitation, viewing, or service.  Memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, MD, 21157. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
