Verna Marie Guyton, age 89, of New Oxford, PA, formerly of Westminster and New Windsor, MD, died peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the Brethren Home in New Oxford, PA.
Born May 31, 1926 in New Windsor, MD, she was the daughter of the late Edgar William and Naomi Marie (Lovell) Eyler. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar Guyton in 1984.
Verna was a graduate of New Windsor High School. She enjoyed refinishing and collecting antiques and furniture. She was a homemaker and especially loved time spent with her family.
Surviving are daughter, Bonnie Jean Bollinger and husband Robert of Needmore, PA; sons, Don Guyton and wife Sharlotte of Hanover, PA, and Bruce Guyton and wife Linda of Lovettsville, VA; grandchildren, Travis Guyton, Brian Bollinger, and Cindy Koutsouradis; great-grandchildren, David Bollinger, Steven and Katie Koutsouradis; great-great-grandson, Orry Bollinger; sisters, Dorothy Lease of New Windsor, and Betty Slifer of Norfolk, VA; and several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, Robert Eyler.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD, with the Rev. Dr. Collin A. Phillips officiating. Interment will follow in Pipe Creek Cemetery near Linwood. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
