Vera Ursula Hunter, 83, of Manchester, was called to be with the Lord on August 27, 2014 at Carroll Hospital Center with her loving family by her side. The Lord received Vera where she will remain at peace for eternity. Born in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Max and Gertrud Urban. She is survived by her husband Charles Hunter of Manchester, son David Hunter of Hanover, PA, daughter and son-in-law Shirley and Bill Isaac of Westminster, daughter and son-in-law Sharon and Dale Rehrer also of Westminster. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Ursel and Leonard Walker of Sacramento, California, sister Doris and the late Helmut Muller of Berlin, Germany. She is also survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Peggy and John Martin of The Villages, Florida. She is also survived by five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Vera’s husband Charles was stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany when they met and were married in 1952. Vera enjoyed gardening, especially her roses, and spending time with her family. She made everyone around her feel special and loved by the warmth of her smile and eyes. Vera was a member of the Reisterstown Lioness Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Manchester.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 29, 2014, from 3:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, MD.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 30, 2014 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Christopher Litton officiating. Friends may visit at the funeral home one hour prior to services. Interment will follow in St. John’s (Leisters) Lutheran Church Cemetery, Westminster.
