Vena Melissa Shaffer, age 47, of Westminster, Maryland, died on Friday, August 29, 2014 at the Carroll Hospital Center.
Born April 22, 1967 in N.C. she was the daughter of Irene Poffenberger of N.C. She is survived by her husband Terry N. Shaffer.
Vena worked at the Main St. Laundromat in Westminster. She loved spending time with family and friends and her pet dog “Puggy”. She was a gift of life organ and tissue donor.
Surviving in addition to her husband are children, Donald Winters and Tristynn Frisbee both of Westminster, Eddie Frisbee of Finksburg, and her loving daughter Mya “little Sil” Diggs; two grandchildren; brothers, Terry Harrison of Hanover and Kenny Harrison of N.C.; friends, Patty “the girlfriend” Walsh of Westminster; and Kimberly “my G” Dowden of Sykesville.
She was predeceased by a sister, Laura Winters.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until the time a Memorial Service at 8:00 p.m. at the Westminster First Church of God, 27 N. Center St., Westminster, MD. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis St., Westminster, MD. Burial will be private.
