Velma M. Cullison

Velma M. Copenhaver Cullison, 77 of Biglerville, PA., passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her daughters. Born November 5, 1947, in Gettysburg PA. She was the daughter of the late, Roy W. and Mary A. (Shockley) Reaver. In addition to her parents, she also was preceded in death by her husbands, David Copenhaver 1997 and Richard Cullison 2014.

Velma retired from St. Joseph Provincial House/The Daughters of Charity in 2009 Emmitsburg, MD after 35 years of service she was a past member of Tom’s Creek United Methodist Church, Emmitsburg. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, shopping and spending time with her family.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Wivell and husband Chris and Kathy Ann Copenhaver and fiancé Ricky Miller, two sisters Virgina D. Haines, and Carol S. Dodson, four grandsons, Coleman and fiancé Lydia Spalding Wivell and Bub Wivell and Adam and Cohen Miller and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at 12 p.m. at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow at Emmitsburg Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Velma's memory.
