Vaughn Christopher Ireland, age 36, of Westminster, Maryland, died peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by family following a five year battle with brain cancer.
He was born on May 1, 1977 in Westminster, Maryland, and was the son of Charles L. and E. Virginia “Ginger” (Krebs) Ireland. He is survived by his wife, Jamie L. (Selby) Ireland and daughter Carli Frances Ireland.
Vaughn worked as a glazer for 11 years with Westminster Glass & Mirror.
Surviving in addition to his parents, wife, and daughter are paternal grandfather, James E. “Mace” Ireland of Westminster; brothers, C. Gregory Ireland and wife Katie of Baltimore and J. Aaron Ireland and Nick Ireland of Hampstead; nieces and nephews, Eoghan, Zoe, Adam, and Mya; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Fran and Jim Selby of Westminster; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He was predeceased by paternal grandmother, Dorothy Ireland and maternal grandparents, Heindel and Hilda Krebs.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2014 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster, and on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s United Church of Christ, 1441 East Mayberry Rd., Westminster (Silver Run) with Rev. Patricia Barth officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Silver Run.
