Ursula Anna Rutkauskas, 89, of Woodsboro, Maryland, formerly of Arbutus, died peacefully Monday, July 28, 2014 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick. Born August 20, 1924 in Baltimore, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Thelma Frankewitz Jowais. She was the wife of the late Edward Rutkauskas who died in 1987.
Ursula was a homemaker. She attended St. Agnes Catholic Church in Catonsville for many years and more recently at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Libertytown. She was a member of Dewey Lowman American Legion Post #109 in Arbutus. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are daughters, Connie Parsons and husband Philip of Woodsboro, and Sharon Kearney and husband Dr. Robert Kearney of Frederick; brother, Peter Jowais Jr. and wife Ruth of Florida; sister, Joan Kirstukas of Catonsville; 10 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She is also remembered by dear friend, Herbert O’Connor of Arbutus. She was predeceased by sister, Anita Cimino, and grandson, Thomas Dunnock.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 8 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Libertytown, Maryland. Inurnment will be at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery in Owings Mills.
