Tyler Dustin Daughtrey, 19, of Taneytown, MD, died Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Gettysburg Hospital in Gettysburg, PA. Born September 17, 1996 in Westminster, he was the son of Keith and Kelly (Colbert) Daughtrey of Taneytown.
Tyler was a graduate of Francis Scott Key High School, class of 2014 He was a cook at Ski Liberty in Carroll Valley, PA. He enjoyed bowling, playing basketball in the driveway with his family, and going to the beach. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan.
Surviving in addition to his parents are brother, Nicholas Daughtrey of Taneytown and girlfriend Chelsea Jefferson of Westminster; maternal grandparents, Arnita and Windell Sowers of Taneytown, and Wilson “Butch” and Cindy Colbert of Hampstead, NC; paternal grandparents, Waverly and Sandra Daughtrey of Yorktown, VA; aunts and uncles, Amanda and Phil Miller of Hampstead, NC, Kevin Daughtrey of Greensboro, NC, Kendal and Wendy Daughtrey of Yorktown, VA; step-aunts and uncles, Jeffrey and Lisa Sowers of Keymar, Barry and Amy Sowers of Columbia, SC, and Cory and Andrea Sowers of British Columbia, Canada; and many cousins. Tyler was predeceased by uncle, Jeffrey C. Colbert.
A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, April 25, 2016 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
