Floyd Thomas Specht, 72, of Walkersville, MD died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at Frederick Memorial Hospital in Frederick, MD. Born January 1, 1944 in Wooster, OH, he was the son of the late Glenn Elwood and Anne (Paparone) Specht.
Tom was a Sales Representative for 20 years with Interstate Bridge Company. He retired from Atlas-Copco in 2008 at the age of 64. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf, and spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid Washington Redskins fan.
Surviving are Tom’s long-time companion, Suzy English of Walkersville; son, Des Specht and wife Debbe of Lutherville, MD; daughter, Cara McDaniel of East Norriton, PA; sisters, Saundra Moreland of Shepherdstown, WV, and Jane Felsentreger of Gambrills, MD; brother, Don Specht and wife Nancy of Bunker Hill, WV; grandchildren, Marrin and Haeley Specht, and Cameron Sanders; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Pastor Dave Meador officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.
