Timothy Wayne Roach, age 57, of Taneytown, Maryland died Thursday, October 27, 2011 at his home after a brave battle with cancer. Born November 1, 1953, he was the son of the late Lloyd and Elnora Mullan Roach. He was the husband of Marguerite Schmidt Roach, his wife of 25 years.
He was a technician for the Maryland Department of Transportation and a veteran of the United States Air Force. Tim came from a long line of self-taught musicians with roots in bluegrass. He played guitar and sang with local bands over 40 years, most recently, with the Roach Brothers, playing rock, blues and country. He also enjoyed hiking, camping, and riding his Harley Sportster. He was a devoted husband, father and friend.
Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Vanessa Marie Roach of Owings Mills, Carlene Stambaugh & husband, Jeremy of Taneytown, Valerie Rose Roach and Julie Elaine Roach of Taneytown; sisters, E. Carole Pritchett of Reisterstown, Rosemary Morales of Florida, Donna DiSebastiano of Cockeysville, Vicky Goodman of Reisterstown, & Linda Caple of Taneytown; brothers, Gary Roach of Peoria, Arizona, Dale Roach of the Philippines, and Ronald Roach & Bryan Roach of Taneytown; grandchildren, Tyler, Jadin, & J. London Webb, Jessica, Jameson & Adalae Stambaugh, and Makai Timothy Johnson; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. He was predeceased by sister, Gail Ansari and brother, Michael Roach.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 1 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Pastor Pete Green officiating. Interment will follow at St. David’s Cemetery near Hanover, PA. The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday.
