Timothy Irvin Markle, 63, of Taneytown, Maryland, died Sunday, June 7, 2015 at York Hospital in York, PA, as the result of a bicycling accident near Littlestown, PA. Born April 8, 1952 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence and Beatrice (Fleming) Markle.
Tim worked for several years at the AMP Company in Abbottstown, PA. He was a member of Piney Creek Presbyterian Church near Harney, where he sang in the choir. He enjoyed antique and classic cars, working on bicycles, and riding. He enjoyed singing, and in his younger days, sang in a local band. He loved animals, especially dogs.
Surviving are son, Jeff Markle of Taneytown; sister, Jacqulyn Hartland and husband Raymond of Silver Run; brothers, Larry Markle and wife Wanda of Harney, and Daniel Markle and wife Debbie of Denver, PA; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Nancy Flickinger, and Toni Coshun; and brothers, Fred and Ronald Markle.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at Piney Creek Presbyterian Church, 4472 Harney Rd., Taneytown, MD, with the Rev. Paul Matthews officiating. Inurnment will be private. Arrangements have been entrusted to Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home in Taneytown.
