Timothy M. Deal, age 59 of Taneytown, died suddenly Monday October 3, 2011 at Carroll Hospital Center. He was born March 30, 1952 in Baltimore, son of the late Lloyd M. and Marie S. Deal. He was the husband of Diane Forry Deal. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam. He retired after 36 years as a machinist for Northrup Gruman. He served as captain of the fire brigade haz-mat team at BWI Airport. He was the owner of Deal & Sons Antique & Trunk Restoration and was a member of the American Legion Hesson Snider Post 120 in Taneytown. He was a Boy Scout leader for 10 years, coached little league and was an avid Ravens fan.
In addition to his wife he is survived by children, Sean M. Deal of Annapolis, Zachary N. and wife, Tabitha Deal of Westminster, (PO1) Kaitlin M. and (Chief) Jose Zayas of Virginia Beach, VA, (Lance Corp) Cy Brown of California and Sara J. Brown of Taneytown; siblings, Jean Williams of Ocean City, James Deal of Arbutus and Linda Gray of Indiana; step-mother, Frances Deal of Arbutus; step-brothers, Mark Thompson of Pasadena and Wally Thompson of Sykesville; grandchildren, Jackson, Hannah, Jace and Colin.
He was predeceased by his brother, David Deal.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 8, 2011, 2:00 to 5:00 pm at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster with a memorial service at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Helen Armiger officiating.
Inurnment with military honors will take place Thursday, October 13, 2011, 11:30 A.M. at Garrison Forest Veterans Cemetery, 11501 Garrison Forest Road, Owings Mills, MD.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Taneytown Volunteer Fire Department, 39 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787.
