Thomas Wayne Perry, 56, of Frederick, MD, passed away on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at Frederick Memorial Hospital.  Born January 15, 1961, in Louisville, KY, he was the son of Ann Bernice (Bonham) Banks of Strasburg, PA, and the late Roy Wayne Perry.  He was the step-son of Carl Frederick Banks, Jr.  He was predeceased by his wife, Linda Kathryn (Reinhardt) Perry in November 2005.  He was the long-time partner of Sonia Kobus of Frederick.

Tom was the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor at Lockheed-Martin in Gaithersburg, MD for many years.  He was an accomplished guitarist and lead singer for the band “Fathers and Sons.”  He enjoyed country music and classic rock.  His favorite band was Lynyrd Skynyrd.  Tom last performed in February at Guido’s Speakeasy in Frederick.  He was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and the Baltimore Orioles.  He had a great sense of humor, laughed at every obstacle in life, and loved watching The Three Stooges.

He is survived by daughter, Melissa “Missy” Shirley and husband John of  Mount Dora, FL; sons, Roy Wayne Perry of Waynesboro, PA, and Thomas Wayne Perry Jr. of Martinsburg, WV; grandchildren, John Lennon Shirley, Kathryn Marie Perry, and Preslee Perry; sisters, Patricia Livermore and husband George of Yorba Linda, CA, and Carol Ann Wickett and husband Scott of Charles Town, WV; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017 at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 210 W. Main St., Emmitsburg, MD with Funeral Celebrant, John Morrill officiating.  Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends on Friday from 2:30 p.m. until the time of the service.
