Thomas W. Humerick, age 65, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died suddenly on Monday, July 26, 2010 as a result of an automobile accident, in Fairfield, PA.
Born June 13, 1945 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late John G. and Eleanor Mingle Humerick.
Tom was retired as a Chief Petty Officer from the U.S. Navy. He served for over 20 years and received the Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam. He was an active member of the Emmitsburg Ambulance Company. He was a 1st Sgt. with the Stonewall Brigade of Civil War re-enactors and participated in the movie “Gettysburg”. Tom loved old motorcycles and was a member of the BMW, Motorcycle of America Club.
Surviving are his daughter, Jillian L. Little of Virginia Beach, Va.; son, Thomas Humerick, Jr. of San Antonio, TX.; grandchildren, Ashton E. Little, Thomas W. Humerick, III, and Chrissa A. Humerick; brother, John Michael Humerick of Alaska.
He was predeceased by sisters, Linda Humerick and Dorothy Fink.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 31, 2010 from the Emmitsburg Ambulance Company, 17701Creamery Road, Emmitsburg, MD. The family will receive friends after the service. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Civil War Preservation Trust, 11Public Square, Suite 200, Hagerstown, MD 21740.
