Thomas Allan “Tom” Edwards, 64, of Littlestown, Pa died unexpectedly Thursday, September 6, 2012 in BelAir, MD. Born January 1, 1948 in Manhattan, Kansas, he was the son of David S. Edwards, Jr. of Union Bridge and the late Esther Menafee Edwards. He was the husband of Laura Dom Edwards, his wife of 47 years.
Tom was employed by Helicopter Applicators, Inc. in Gettysburg, PA. He loved old cars and enjoyed fixing and restoring Wheel Horse tractors. He was a hard worker and an excellent provider for his family. He took great pride in doing a job right. He loved his family and his cats, enjoyed his new job and his co-workers, and was always ready to help others. Tom was also known as a good steward of the land.
Surviving in addition to his wife and father are sons, Jeff Edwards and fiancé, Stacy Ridinger, and Todd Edwards, all of Gettysburg, PA; sister, Marcia Edwards of Union Bridge; brothers, David Edwards, III of NC, and Glenn Edwards and wife, Vicki, of Union Bridge; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Stuart and Phyllis Dom of Ledyard, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 11 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St. with Tom’s brother, Glenn Edwards, officiating. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Harney. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday.
