Thomas William Baker, age 83 of Taneytown, Maryland died peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at home.
Born June 15, 1930 in Linwood, MD, he was the son of the late Raymond W. and Grace E. (Rodkey) Baker. He was predeceased by his wife Betty Marie (Staup) Baker in 2007.
Tom retired after over 30 years as a logger with VanHessen Logging Co. in Taneytown. He also enjoyed dairy and cattle farming for many years. He was a member of Emmanuel (Baust) UCC in Tyrone.
Surviving are son, Allison “Butch” Baker and wife Kay of Thurmont; daughters, Victoria Baker of Taneytown and Kathlyn Holt and husband Charles of Fairfield, PA.; granddaughters, Tanya Donato and Kim McGlaughlin; step-grandson, Michael Harris; great-grandson, Troy Allan Donato.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Ronald Baker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Rev. Jeffry Dull officiating. Interment will follow in Emmauel (Baust) U.C.C. Cemetery in Tyrone. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
