May 17, 1938 — June 26, 2018

The Reverend John N. Miller, 80, of Westminster, Maryland, passed away on June 26, 2018, after a longtime struggle with a heart condition.

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, on May 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Rev. Jack and Gertrude Miller.  John was the youngest of three children of which James Miller, Jr., and Jackie Kelley, preceded him in death.

John devoted his life to Christian ministry.  He was ordained into the Southern Baptist denomination and began his career working for the local Youth for Christ organization – now known as Mason-Dixon Youth for Christ and Metro Maryland Youth for Christ.  He then worked for many years for the World Wide Pictures arm of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and helped with local church outreach in preparation for the 1981 Billy Graham crusade in Baltimore, MD.  John also volunteered for a short time in support of evangelical outreach efforts conducted by former Baltimore Oriole Pat Kelly.  Other ministries that John served over the years include Bibles for the World and the India Children’s Choir, Africa Youth for Christ and its children’s choir, and the singing group First Love.

John is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carole Lee Miller; two daughters, Jennifer Lee Mascott and husband Jeff of Chevy Chase and Jodie Lynn Foster and husband Josh of Westminster; and six grandchildren, Parker Foster, Ella Foster, Avery Mascott, Everett Mascott, Elias Mascott, and Augustine Mascott.

A private burial for the family will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018, with interment at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Finksburg, MD.  A public memorial service of home going will be held at 4:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2018, at LifePoint Church, 1701 Emory Rd. (Rt. 91), Reisterstown, MD, with the Rev. Joe Duke officiating.  A time of visitation will precede the service starting at 3:00 p.m.  Please join us in remembering and celebrating John’s life, a reception will follow the service.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME in Westminster.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John’s name may be made to Mason-Dixon Youth for Christ, P.O.
