Sterling W. Selby, age 83 of Westminster, died Tuesday December 8, 2009 at Summerville at Westminster. He was born April 3, 1926 in New Windsor, the son of the late Jesse and Rae Wagner Selby. He was the husband of Geneva Ohler Selby, his wife of 62 years. Before retirement he was a supervisor for the C& P Telephone Company.
He was of veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during World War II. He was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church, Telephone Pioneers and American Legion Post #120.
In addition to his wife he is survived by sons, David Selby of Silver Spring, MD and Dennis Selby of Houston, Texas; sisters, Mary Jane Warehime of Westminster and Virginia Little of Upperco, MD; grandchildren, John and Kate Selby.
He was predeceased by his son, Daniel L. Selby in February 2009, grandson, Bryan Selby and siblings, Marjorie Little, Mollie Selby and Robert Selby.
A private graveside will be held at Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Cemetery in Taneytown.
