Stacey Michelle Smith

Stacey Michelle Smith, age 48, of Taneytown, passed away peacefully, Friday, July 14, 2023, at BridgingLife (Dove House), Westminster, MD. Born, January 13, 1975, in Westminster, she was the daughter of Gary C. and Reda L.  Smith.

Stacey was last employed at Clarks Shoe Warehouse in McSherrystown, PA until her health started failing. When her health was better, she worked with her father at many carnivals in the lemonade stand. She also worked at local racetracks selling racing souvenirs for R&B Racing Apparel the family-owned business.  She was an avid racing fan where she went to many tracks, Trail-Way Speedway, Lincoln, Hagerstown Path Valley and more. She was a devoted NASCAR fan; Kyle Bush was her favorite driver. She also enjoyed bowling, where she earned many awards and playing pool. She was a member of Catoctin Mountain Pool league and she belonged to Auto Racing Club of Hagerstown, ARCH and York County Racing Club, YCRC.

Besides her parents she is survived by her sister, Sherrie L. Wildasin and husband Brian of Gettysburg, PA nephew, Jacob C. Glass of Hanover, PA and niece Samantha L. Wildasin of Gettysburg. PA.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, P.A., 136 East Baltimore Street, Taneytown, MD 21787. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2023, 11 a.m.  at the funeral home with the Deacan Charles E. Barnhart, Jr. and Deacon Darrell Smith co-officiating. A burial will be held at a later date.
