Sister Paula McGuire, DC, age 88, of Emmitsburg, Maryland, died peacefully on Monday, August 5, 2013 at Villa Saint Michael in Emmitsburg, Maryland. She was born December 1, 1924 in Baltimore, Maryland, daughter of Charles and Margaret McGuire. She was a Daughter of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul, and served in various positions in schools in Maryland, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and South Carolina. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton, 333 South Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, Maryland. The Rev. Stephen Trzecieski, CM (Chaplain to the Daughters of Charity) will be the celebrant. Interment will follow on the grounds of St. Joseph House, Emmitsburg, A Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday evening, August 7 in the Villa Chapel at St. Joseph House, 333 South Seton Avenue, Emmitsburg, Maryland. Arrangements are by the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, Emmitsburg, Maryland.
