Shirley Ann Young

Shirley Ann Young, 87, of Westminster passed away peacefully, Thursday, August 1st, 2024 at Brightview Assisted Living in Westminster where she lived with her sister, Bettie, until Bettie passed away March 17th, 2024.  Born April 15, 1937 in Westminster, she was the daughter of the late Charles Thomas Young and Evelyn Agatha Young, nee Troxell.  She was the sister of William C. Young, and John T. Young, and was predeceased by her brother Charles R. Young and her sister Bettie Jane Beauchamp.

She was a life long member of St. John Catholic Church where she was a Eucharistic Minster for over 26 years, a member of the Wisdom Club, volunteered with the St. John Health Care Ministry. She retired as a Data Supervisor for C&P Telephone where she was a member of the Telephone Pioneers.

The family will receive friends 10-11 a.m., Friday, August 9th, 2024 at the St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster (21157) where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11a.m. by the Rev. Fr. Mark Bialek her pastor. Interment will follow the Mass in St. John Catholic Church Cemetery, Westminster.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered in Ms. Young’s name to the St. John Catholic Church, 43 Monroe Street, Westminster, MD 21157.
