Sean Ward, 34, of Littlestown, PA died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at his home. Born January 28, 1978 in Baltimore, he was the son of Timothy and Deborah Shump Ward of Warfordsburg, PA. He was the husband of Miranda Smith Ward.
Sean was a 1996 graduate of Francis Scott Key High School. He was a stay-at-home-dad who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He loved football and coached the Junior Eagles football team in Taneytown. He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Orioles.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are daughter, Michaella Rachel Ward of home. He was predeceased by infant son, Joseph Ryan Ward in 2009. Also surviving are god-daughter, Taylor Lee O’Hara of Taneytown; brothers, Aaron Ward and wife, Ximing Zhao of Charlotte, NC, and Christopher Sturdivant and wife, Jen, of Taneytown; and cousin, Don Shump of Baltimore.
A memorial service to celebrate Sean’s life will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 19 at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD with Christopher Sturdivant officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
