Sandra Lee Burkhard, age 65, of Taneytown, Md., died on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at the Carroll Hospice Dove House in Westminster, Md.,
Born June 29, 1943 in Valhalla, N.Y. She was the wife of 34 years to Donald J. Burkhard
Mrs. Burkhard was employed by Knorr Brake Co. of Westminster, Md., as a senior contract administrator for many years. She was a member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Hesson-Snider Post # 120 in Taneytown, Md. She enjoyed playing the slots at Charlestown, W.Va., and spending time with her granddaughters. She also enjoyed spending time at their cottage on the lake in Chaumont Bay, N.Y.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are sons and spouses, Bryon D. and Jayne Perry of Watertown, N.Y., Steve and Patty Perry of Adams, N.Y., and Keith S. and Elizabeth Perry of Adams, N.Y., granddaughters, Trisha, Nicole, Kayla, and Lauren Perry; and a sister-in-law and spouse, Joan and Richard Gray of Georgia.
A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M., on Monday, September 22, 2008 in the hall of the American Legion Hesson-Snider Post # 120, 9 Broad St., Taneytown. Interment will be private. There will be no visitation.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carroll Hospice Dove House, 292 Stoner Ave., Westminster, Md. 21157.
