Ruth Jean (Ohler) Sell

September 9, 1930 — October 15, 2016

Ruth Jean Sell, 86, resident of Carroll Lutheran Village in Westminster, Maryland, and formerly of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Carroll Lutheran Village healthcare center.

Born on September 9, 1930 in Thurmont, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Raymond James Ohler and Emma Sevilla (Cluts) Ohler.  She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Carl Auman Sell.

Ruth was an administrative assistant for the Maryland State Delegate representative in Annapolis, Maryland; as well as an administrative assistant with Cambridge Rubber Company and Montgomery Ward department store.  She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown.  She was an avid gardner, and enjoyed quilting and cross-stich.

Surviving in addition to her husband are daughter, Donna Macola and husband Joseph of Pasadena, MD; granddaughters, Katherine Young and husband Bradley of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and Amy Holt and husband Richard of Pasadena, MD; 4 great-grandsons; and a sister, Mildred Ecker of Hampstead.

She was predeceased by sisters, Virginia Baumgardner, Marion Formwalt, and Lois Wantz.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at the MYERS-DURBORAW FUNERAL HOME, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown with Pastor Cris Frigm officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6-8:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery in Taneytown.
