Ruth R. Ashe, age 83 of Westminster died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Carroll Lutheran Village Healthcare Center. She was born June 26, 1929 in Baltimore, daughter of the late Francis and Ada Preibe Russell. She was the wife of Amos Ashe, her husband of 62 years.
She worked for the American Restaurant and also was secretary for Senator Dan Brewster. She worked as a bus aide for ARC of Carroll County. She was a member of St. Benjamin’s (Kriders) Lutheran Church. She loved traveling through-out the U.S. She enjoyed flowers, gardening and was an avid duckpin bowler.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by children Teresa and husband, Dale Accuntius of Bellbrook, OH, Nancy Ashe Warren and husband, Charles Warren of Oxford, NC, Judy and husband, Bill Klinger of Westminster and David and wife, Beth Ashe of Bellefonte, PA; brother, Francis Russell and sister, Marguerite Gaunt both of Baltimore; grandchildren, Christopher, Justin and Cori Van Horn, Ashley and Andrea Warren and Madigan and Erin Ashe.
A memorial service will held at Carroll Lutheran Village, Krug Chapel on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. David S. Schafer and Rev. Jimmie L. Schwartz officiating. Interment will be private.
The family will receive friends Friday 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 91 Willis Street, Westminster and 10:00 am until time of the service on Saturday at Krug Chapel.
