Russell Albertus Kline, age 76, of Taneytown, Maryland, died peacefully on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Lorien Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taneytown.
Born November 11, 1932 near Middleburg, MD, he was the son of the late Dorothy Mae (Kline) Biddinger. He was the loving husband of 52 years to Catherine Elizabeth (Sowers) Kline.
Russell was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Taneytown. He retired after 25 years service as a machine operator at Taney Stair and Taney Supply and Lumber Company in Taneytown. He enjoyed sports especially baseball and football, and helped to coach little league for a time. He helped with cub scouts, liked his pet dogs, and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife are children, Virginia West and husband James of Hanover, PA, Dale Kline, Sr., and wife Sharon of Taneytown, Donna Hinkhaus and husband Mike of Taneytown, Joanne Haines and husband Garry of Taneytown; grandchildren, Wade West, Jessica Yingling, Dale, Jr., Joshua, and Samuel Kline, Brandon Hinkhaus, and Sarah Haines; 5 great-grandchildren.
He was pre-deceased by a son, Russell Albertus Kline, Jr.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, March 31, 2009 at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with his grandson Pastor Dale Kline, Jr. and Pastor Gary Schaeffer co-officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends on Monday from 6-9 PM at the funeral home.
